Our story began outside the Katmandu Valley where we became Five-star cooks in our native Nepalese cuisine. We were a family business then and we are a family business now. In 2001 we brought our family recipes and traditions to Nederland, Colorado where the Katmandu Restaurant was operated by our family until 2007, at which time we opened Cuisine of the Himalayas in Evergreen, Colorado. Our culinary specialty is Nepalese, Indian and Tibetan cuisine from our celebrated family recipes developed many years ago outside the Katmandu Family owned Indian Restaurant – Cuisine of the Himalayas in Evergreen ColoradoValley in Nepal. We sincerely hope you enjoy our creations and service, from our family to yours. Please come and enjoy cuisine from the other side of the world, Himalaya Food in Colorado.
The food is amazing. It is one of my favorite places to go as a vegan. The service is exceptional. And I love, love, love their chai tea.
“We keep going back for the food and service”
My husband and I keep returning, whether as a couple or surrounded by friends and family. We do not go for lunch or buffet, but dinners are always fresh and delicious! It’s not a fancy place, but a very comfortable seating for small and large parties. I want to share that I personally cannot enjoy “heat”, spiced foods…and the staff honors me with multiple choices to enjoy. My husband is the opposite, and all his dining needs are met. We are always happy to be there, and have so many choices. Biryani is my favorite, accompanied with aloo paratha (potatoe)❤️. My husband eats everything lamb, especially lamb vindaloo.
Family staff is lovely, and very accommodating.
Love Indian cuisine but not adventurous in spicy foods. This little cafe was delicious and offered foods a tangent off of Indian. So flavorful and the staff was wonderful too. MUST have the sweet potatoes off the buffet. Too good to miss. 🙂
Waiting for food and service is completely acceptable when there’s a good reason for the delay…like the BEST Indian food we’ve found in Denver. Great and friendly service and well worth the wait for tender, moist, flavorful and freshly-cooked food. Most Indian restaurants can’t compare to this beloved eatery with their dry chicken and over-spiced entrees. Take a drive to Bergen Park and come back and thank me 😉
We were just passing through… saw this place … highly rated… stopped in for lunch on A Thurs… they had a buffet…we all loved it.. including my 6 yr old and 20month old. Give it 5 stars… overlooking mountains.. pleasant service… great food.
